Waiting For Years, Snapchat Users Can Finally Change Their Username

JAKARTA - After a long time, Snap will finally launch a feature that many users have been waiting for and have been waiting for, namely a way to change their Snapchat name.

This capability will take effect from February 23. All users on iOS and Android, will be able to update their username. Of course this will be good news for many people.

Users will be able to change their name without creating a new account and will have to start over with friends lists, memories, Snap scores and so on.

However, users will only be able to change their name once per year. Unfortunately, this one time opportunity was quite disappointing.

Because the people who really want this feature are the ones with weird and old-fashioned names that they want to get rid of.

Snap recognizes that people grow and change over time. Many of them don't want to be stuck with a bad Snapchat username they created a decade ago, maybe when they were teenagers.

To update your Snapchat username, follow the steps below. It should be noted, you can only use this feature starting February 23.

Tap the Bitmoji icon in the top left corner of the Camera to go to the profile screen. Select Settings by tapping the gear-like icon in the top-right corner of the profile. Tap Username, just below Name, and select Change Username marked in blue. Then click Continue on the pop up reminding that the Username can only be changed once per year. Type in the new Username, and hit Next. Yup, your username has been changed directly.
