DOGE Will Be Staking, The Dogecoin Foundation Collaborates With Ethereum Founder Vitalik Buterin To Develop PoS Mechanism

JAKARTA – Dogecoin (DOGE) is no longer a joke, a meme coin should be looked at more deeply. Because the non-profit organization behind DOGE crypto, The Dogecoin Foundation is reportedly working on a staking mechanism for DOGE together with Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin.

The Dogecoin Foundation immediately released its own roadmap called the Dogecoin Trailmap which the Dogecoin Foundation will explore and which it believes will contribute to Dogecoin's success.

The Dogecoin Foundation worked with Buterin to build a “unique Doge proposal” for a “community staking” proof-of-stake (PoS) version. Such a version will allow all Dogecoin users to stake their DOGE and earn additional tokens to support the network.

“[The PoS version] will allow everyone, not just the big players to participate in a way that values their contribution in running the network, and at the same time giving back to the entire community through charity work,” the Dogecoin Foundation wrote.

According to Cointelegraph, the Dogecoin Foundation rebuilt the project in August 2021 after six years of almost no media activity. As part of the new team, the foundation listed members of its advisory board, including Buterin, Dogecoin co-founder Billy Markus and Dogecoin core developer Max Keller. Tesla CEO and major DOGE fan Elon Musk will reportedly be represented by Neuralink CEO Jared Birchall.

“As you can imagine, embarking on such an adventure is no small feat and we are still just getting started. We already have some influential friends on our side and a growing group of people who are getting ready to donate time to the development of these open-source projects,” added the Dogecoin Foundation.

For your information, Dogecoin was founded in 2014 by programmers Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer, who created the DOGE payment system with the idea of a “joke.” The Dogecoin Foundation ceased to be active shortly after its founder left the project.
