JAKARTA – The third largest decentralized exchange (DEX) SushiSwap had to lose its Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Joseph Delong who resigned from the position. Delong announced his retirement via Twitter.
“I wish Sushi the very best and I am saddened that Sushi is under threat inside and outside. The chaos that is occurring now is unlikely to result in a resolution that would leave the DAO more shadowy than ever without a radical structural transformation.”
Cointelegraph reports that Delong was disappointed that SushiSwap failed to launch on Optimism, an Ethereum (ETH) layer two solution. He also admitted that he received little support from centralized exchanges regarding the identity of hackers after the SushiSwap launchpad token was hacked for $3 million. Delong admitted it was "the hardest day of my life so far."
In the interest of the Sushi Community I am resigning as CTO effective immediately. I very much enjoyed the things that we built together and will look back positively on this moment. pic.twitter.com/7pZsQuPgup

But it seems it wasn't just the project's technical setbacks that played a role in Delong's decision. In a series of follow-up tweets following the announcement, Delong posted screenshots of alleged harassment from user SushiSwap, which he later quoted as “the community did it for me.”
He also advised to install the C-suite outside the DAO (decentralized autonomous organization) and hoped they could manage the team better. Delong also warned the team to be careful of people who ordain themselves as leaders.
"I highly recommend installing C-suites from outside the DAO [decentralized autonomous organization] and providing them with the tools to manage teams effectively. Be wary of any self-proclaimed leaders emerging from today's core teams," Delong messages.
The former CTO of SushiSwap revealed his plans to take a month's vacation with his family before carrying out his next project.
“Now I want to take a month off with my wife and kids then build my next project. Long live Sushi," he wrote with the addition of the Sushi symbol.
