Finally Xiaomi Will Present MIUI On December 16, What's New?

JAKARTA - Xiaomi is now preparing for the development of MIUI 13 with the status running smoothly, as a number of high-end phone models have recently received a trial build internally in the stable beta channel.

While other OEMs such as Samsung, OPPO and OnePlus have already launched their software skins for Android 12, Xiaomi is a bit late in this regard, as there is still no sign of a major upgrade nearly two months after Android 12 has stabilized. But that seems to be changing soon.

Xiaomi reports that MIUI 13 might launch on December 16 in China at an event. It will be quite a big event and it is also expected that the company will announce the next Xiaomi 12 flagship phone. However, the four-hour event is still too long to only showcase two products.

Reporting from Gizmochina, Friday, November 26, MIUI 13 is touted as a major upgrade over MIUI 12.5, bringing various UI improvements and changes. Bringing a different experience to users.

At least nine devices are currently known to have received internal test builds, namely the entire Mi 11 series, Mi 11 Lite 5G, Mi 10S, MIX 4, and Redmi K40/K40 Pro/K40 Pro+. Those devices will likely receive the stable Android 12 based MIUI 13 but some will even receive the Android 11 based MIUI 13.

Unfortunately, not many people get questions about the features that come, almost nothing leaks at all. Xiaomi is a bit tight-lipped about it all. But there are some hints where the company will revamp virtual RAM expansion, floating widgets, new notification management, smoother animations, new always-on display, updated File Manager app and a redesigned Theme. MIUI 13 is also expected to bring new wallpapers and icons.
