JAKARTA - WhatsApp again brings new security features and better capabilities for its users, namely the message rate reporting feature and flash call.

With the message level reporting feature users can now report accounts to WhatsApp by flagging specific messages. Users can long press a specific message to report or block the user.

The feature saves a few clicks to block users. On the other hand, message level reports may be useful when dealing with spam messages, targeted harassment, unwanted messages, or messages of a criminal or illegal nature.

Citing Gizmochina, Tuesday, November 23, in its latest report, WhatsApp said that it banned more than 2.2 million accounts last September.

Then the new Whatsapp flash call feature, allows Android users who have installed or reinstalled WhatsApp on their devices to verify their phone number by automatic dialing instead of SMS.

WhatsApp claims that it is a much safer option, considering that everything is done from within the app. The company states that these two features have been introduced to ensure that the user experience remains secure. However, it is not known for sure whether these two new features are available globally.

Apart from end-to-end encryption, WhatsApp offers a lot of security features such as blocking contacts, controlling what to share with whom, removing messages, and locking apps with Touch ID or Face ID.

Apart from that, recently WhatsApp also released features that help to improve user experience like view message once, and a new feature is being tested which allows users to hide last seen from certain people in contact list.
