JAKARTA – Phil Spencer, CEO of Xbox, confirmed that they are evaluating the Microsoft-owned game console maker's relationship with Activision Blizzard Inc, on Thursday 18 November. This comes following allegations of sexual harassment and breach of equal pay against video-game publisher Activision.

Bloomberg first reported the news on Thursday, November 18, citing emails sent to employees.

Spencer told staff that the Xbox gaming leadership team was "disturbed and deeply disturbed by the horrific events and actions" at Activision, the report said.

"Leaders at Xbox and Microsoft support our teams and support them in building a safer environment for all," Spencer said in a statement.

An Activision spokesman said the company was engaged with its partners. The accusations against the company, known for its video-game titles including "Call of Duty" and "Diablo," have led to launch delays and the exit of top executives from the company.

Earlier this week, employees went on strike following reports that the company's CEO found out about allegations of sexual harassment and assault earlier than previously known.

Sexual harassment in a company is currently a very sensitive issue in the US. It is believed that if the issue is not handled properly, it could bring down public and market sentiment on the company concerned. No wonder many people avoid getting in touch with companies accused of allowing this to happen.
