JAKARTA - Twitter Inc. launched its subscription product to the United States and New Zealand and will include several new features. This was announced by the social networking site on Tuesday, November 9 as it pushed to diversify its revenue sources.

Twitter Blue, which will cost you $2.99 per month, will now include the ability to read some news articles without ads, upload longer videos, and customize the navigation bar in the Twitter app.

The San Francisco-based company, which makes most of its money selling ads, is eyeing a more consistent source of revenue by selling access to certain features to heavy Twitter users who flock to the site for the latest news and events.

Twitter Blue subscribers can read articles from publications such as the Washington Post, USA Today, and Reuters without ads. As part of a Twitter Blue subscription, users will be signed in to news organizations, Twitter said.

Subscribers can also pin important conversations to the top of their message inbox and change the color theme of their Twitter app.

Twitter started rolling out its subscription service last June. They, launched it for the first time in Canada and Australia. There is no confirmation when Twitter Blue will be applied to users around the world. Twitter Inc., meanwhile, declined to say how many subscribers it currently has.
