JAKARTA - Indonesian badminton legend, Rexy Mainaky, has officially joined the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM).

Reported by Antara from Malaysia's Bernama News Agency, Tuesday, Rexy Mainaky will serve with Coaching Director Wong Choong Hann for the advancement of the neighboring country's doubles sector at the Badminton Academy Malaysia (ABM) in Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur, starting December 1, 2021.

The President of BAM, Tan Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria, welcomed the presence of the 53-year-old man.

"Rexy is a good and experienced coach with an outstanding track record," said Tan Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria as quoted by Antara, Tuesday.

"He will be given special Key Performance Indicators to revitalize and further motivate our youth doubles department. I look forward to the contribution he will make to optimize team performance along with Choong Hann and the rest of the coaching staff."

Rexy has been criss-crossed in the world of coaching for the sport of batting. Most recently, he served as head coach of the Badminton Association of Thailand (BAT) since 2017 and his contract expires this month. One of her biggest successes was taking the Thai women's team to the final for the first time at the Uber Cup in 2018.
