Netizens Mocked Mike Tyson Statue Because It Doesn't Look Like The Real Thing

JAKARTA - The statue of Mike Tyson which was unveiled in Las Vegas received ridicule from netizens because it did not resemble the original.

The statue, erected at Resorts World, is a tribute to Tyson's brilliant boxing career.

Although the statue features a tattoo of Mike's iconic "Iron" face, sculptor Richie Palmer received a lot of criticism on social media.

Because he was thought to have made a lot of mistakes.

"I love Mike (Tyson), but the statue doesn't look like him lol," wrote one Twitter user.

Some fans even compared it to the statue of Cristiano Ronaldo at Madeira airport, which was erected in 2017 which has also been the subject of ridicule.

However, the youngest heavyweight world champion in history said he was very grateful to Palmer.

"I've known Richie (Palmer) since my teenage years in New York City and we've always been close and I'm humbly grateful." Tyson told MARCA.
