JAKARTA - United States businessman Chris Kirchner has said he wants to buy Championship side Derby County in an open letter addressed to supporters of the English club.
Derby, managed by former England and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, were declared bankrupt in September and given an automatic 12-point deduction that leaves them bottom of the English second division.
Kirchner, 34, and founder of global logistics technology provider Slync.io, has said he will bring Derby out of bankruptcy and is seeking approval from the English Football League (EFL) to become the club's owner.
"At this point in time, the bankruptcy administration process is complex, but I have informed administrators that I am willing to address this complexity," Kirchner said in a letter published by the Derby Telegraph, cited from Antara, quoted from Reuters.
