Closing PON Papua, Lukas Enembe: We'll Meet Again At The Sunset

JAYAPURA - Papua Governor Lukas Enembe bid farewell to the end of the 2021 Papua PON at the closing ceremony held at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, Jayapura Regency, Friday, October 15 evening.

Lukas Enembe said that the 2021 PON XX Papua will end along with the closing ceremony and will meet again at the PON XXI Aceh-North Sumatra 2024 event.

"We will separate from the eastern horizon of the rising sun, Tanah Papua. And we will meet again in PON XXI on the western horizon of sunset, namely Aceh and North Sumatra," said Lukas Enembe.

In addition to bidding farewell, Governor Lukas Enembe also congratulated the overall winner of the 2021 PON XX Papua, West Java. It is hoped that West Java's success can be a whip for other provinces to achieve achievements in the next PON event.

"Congratulations to the province that won the overall champion at PON XX Papua 2021, hopefully this achievement can be a whip for other provinces in the next pound," said Lukas.

At the XX Papua PON 2021, the West Java contingent won the overall title and maintained its position as the defending champion with a collection of 133 gold medals, 105 silver medals and 115 bronze medals.

The Jakarta contingent took second place with 110 gold medals, 91 silver medals and 100 bronze medals. The third position was occupied by the East Java team who collected 110 gold, 89 silver and 88 bronze.

Meanwhile, the host team Papua collected 93 gold medals, 66 silver medals and 102 bronze medals. The Papuan team took fourth place.
