Papua PON Athletics Schedule Today, Lalu Zohri Assigned At 200 Meters

JAKARTA - The sixth day of organizing athletic sports at the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON), Sunday, will be marked by the appearance of a number of national athletes, one of which was Lalu Mohammad Zohri who took part in the men's 200-meter category.

Based on the data compiled on Sunday, Lalu will compete in the first round of the men's 200-meter category with six other runners, including the runner from Gorontalo who won gold and silver medals at the 2018 ASEAN Youth Athletic Championship Izrak Udjulu.

DJ quoting from ANTARA, in the first two rounds of the men's 200 meters, athletes such as Subur Santoso from Central Java, the host runner Pedro Wowa, and Central Kalimantan athlete who won the men's 100 meters bronze at the Papua PON Eko Rimbawan.

Later, as many as eight runners will proceed to the final round, taken from the top three in each series plus the two best-time owners. The final round will be played on Monday, 11 October afternoon.

The women's 200 meters preliminary round will also compete today. Bengkulu athlete who won bronze in the women's 100 meters PON Papua Hasruni is scheduled to compete in the first series against six other runners, including Central Java runner Fabiola Francelina, DKI Jakarta athlete Jeany Nuraini, and host runner Venska Wapai.

Meanwhile, the first two rounds of the women's 200-meter run will be followed by Maluku runner who holds the women's 200-meter national record, Alvin Tehupeiory, along with seven other runners, including Papuan runner Janet Patai.

The eight sprinters, drawn from the top three in each series plus the owner of the two best times will proceed to the final round which will be held on Monday, 11 October afternoon.

In the men's hammer ejection final, there was the name of the national athlete, Ardiansyah Apandi. The PON record holder will compete against eight other athletes, including Firdan Akbar from DKI Jakarta, Denny Putra Yohannes from Riau, and Fahri Suryansyah from West Java.

The final for the 400 meters of the men's and women's hurdles will also be held this afternoon. The following is the complete schedule for the Papua PON athletic competition on Sunday, October 10, 2021.

1. Men's hammer throw final, at 15.30 eastern Indonesia time

2. Round 1 women's 200 meters, at 15.35 eastern Indonesia time

3. Men's 200 meter round 1, at 15.50 eastern Indonesia time

4. Final 400 meters for the men's goal, at 16.20 eastern Indonesia time

5. Final 400 meters for the women's goal, at 16.40 eastern Indonesia time
