JAKARTA - The person in charge of the medical pencak silat at the Papua National Sports Week (PON) dr Sandi said the martial arts athlete Hamry from South Sulawesi was referred to the Yowari Regional General Hospital (RSUD) to confirm his condition after his genitals were hit by a kick by the host fighter Tiel Taraipos while competing at the Toware GOR. .

"We suspect that there is trauma in his groin. To be sure, we will refer him to a hospital that has an X-ray," said Dr. Sandi in Jayapura, Friday, as reported by Antara.

Before being rushed to Yowari Hospital, the medical team at the pencak silat venue first confirmed whether or not there was bleeding in the South Sulawesi fighter's vital equipment.

"When we checked there was no bleeding," said Dr. Sandi.

However, when the doctor examined the area of the symphysis bone, Hamry groaned in pain and it was suspected that there were bruises or injuries to that part due to the kick he suffered.

"Seeing the condition, we immediately referred the patient using an infusion," he said.

Hamry had to be rushed by a doctor to the Yowari Hospital after Tiel Taraipos kicked his sensitive area in the men's D class (60-65 kilograms) martial arts preliminary round.

In that match, the match committee determined that the host fighter won the technique. However, shortly before the decision was made, the representative of the South Sulawesi contingent protested strongly to the Head of the Competition Committee because they felt that the athletes were being cheated.

The match was stopped for about 20 minutes before the match committee determined Tiel Taraipos to win technically over Hamry.
