Firm! Papuan PON Athletes Violating The Bubble System Will Be Sanctioned

JAKARTA - The Chairperson of the Supervisory and Steering Committee (Panwasrah) of XX Papua PON Suwarno emphasized that athletes who violate the provisions of the bubble system will be sanctioned.

"There will be severe sanctions for those who carry out other activities other than those that have been scheduled," said Suwarno in a webinar titled "Ready for XX Papua PON, Implement Health Protocols", Tuesday, reported Antara.

The bubble system is a system that limits the movement of all parties so that they only carry out activities according to PON activities.

This system aims to minimize the spread of COVID-19 during the XX PON event.

During the PON series, athletes are only allowed to move from the inn to the match venue and from the match venue back to the inn.

Suwarno added that if one of the athletes complains of pain, an antigen swab test will be carried out.

"If the (results) are reactive, then proceed with a PCR swab test. If (results) are positive, they will be isolated and traced," he said.

For sports that have physical contact between players, before competing, athletes are required to do an antigen swab test.

"Such as wrestling, wushu, boxing, H-1 must be tested for antigen, if (results) are negative then they are allowed to compete, if (results) are reactive, continue with the PCR swab test," he said.

PON XX Papua will be held on October 2-15, 2021, which will feature a total of 37 sports and 7,039 athletes will participate.
