Dortmund Vs Sporting CP: Malen's First Goal Marking Match For Die Borussen

JAKARTA - Hosts Borussia Dortmund narrowly beat Sporting 1-0 thanks to Donyell Malen's first goal for his club in the Champions League Group C match on Wednesday morning.

This victory makes Dortmund record two wins from the first two matches of this group phase.

Launching Antara, the German League club itself lost top striker Erling Haaland who was seriously injured.

Supposedly when dominating possession, Dortmund could optimize the strength and finishing ability of the Norwegian player in front of the opponent's goal.

Dortmund scored from his first real goal opportunity as Malen completed a quick three-pass movement across the pitch.

The 22-year-old Netherlands international then fired a low shot which he placed well in the 37th minute. This was his first goal in a Champions League match.

Dortmund also scored two more goals in the second half but both goals were ruled out for offside.

Dortmund and leaders Ajax Amsterdam, who beat Besiktas 2-0 about two hours before Dortmund vs Sporting, are both on six points.

On the other hand Sporting and Besiktas are still without points as they have always lost their first two group stage matches.
