JAKARTA - League 1 and League 2 competitions will continue amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The plan, the national football league will be held on October 1. A number of decisions were made by the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) so that the competition was in accordance with government regulations.

Health protocol will be strictly enforced. Just like leagues in Europe, the continued competition for League 1 and 2 will be held without spectators. This was reiterated by the Chairman of PSSI, Mochamad Iriawan, when he was a speaker at the Football Supporters Management Training in Jakarta.

The man who is familiarly called Iwan Bule also appealed to supporters not to hold watching activities together. This is solely to prevent the more massive spread of COVID-19.

"It is enough with support at home or via social media to support each favorite team," said PSSI Ketum.

The former Kapolda Metro Jaya added, PSSI has formed a division for fostering supporters and fans' engagement. This step is to welcome the 2021 U-20 World Cup and the continuation of the competition. The hope is that there will be no more fatalities from supporters in league competitions in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the trainer of Persik Kediri, Joko Susilo, seemed to understand the PSSI decision. According to him, the most important thing is the safety of players and team officials when the competition is held again.

"We have to prepare everything according to the regulations set by PSSI," said Joko.

Meanwhile, Persib Bandung player, Gian Zola said, of course there would be a difference later if the match was held without spectators. According to him, the match will feel bland because the supporters are always a trigger for the enthusiasm of the players on the field. However, that was not a reason for players to be discouraged.

"In fact, we have to keep working hard for those who cannot attend the stadium," said Zola.
