Mihajlovic thought the Rossoblu would win after Aaron Hickey's strike and Marko Arnautovic's penalty put his team in front twice.

However, one minute before the game was over, the referee awarded a penalty to Genoa for Kevin Bonifazi's violation of Yayah Kallon.

"Bonifazi was pushed first, so the foul was on him," Mihajlovic said at his press conference.

“When he falls, he lands on top of his opponent, but that's about it. There are no penalties, referees have to learn to evaluate incidents properly.

"It's disappointing for my players, because we did everything possible to win this game. Genoa are a good team, but they didn't create many chances."

Bologna came back from a 6-1 loss to Inter and that was evident in their static first half at the Stadio Dall'Ara.

"We were a bit tense in the first half, but recovered after the break. It's disappointing, that's all I can say."
