PSSI And Kemenpora Are Ready To Work Together For The Success Of The 2021 U-20 World Cup And League 1

JAKARTA - PSSI is ready to share tasks with the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) to hold the 2021 U-20 World Cup in Indonesia. This was revealed by the Chairman of PSSI, Mochamad Iriawan in the webinar on the topic of Indonesia Welcoming the 2021 U-20 World Cup and Restart Liga 1 which was held by IDN Times media last Friday.

Not only that. The highest football federation in Indonesia is also ready to roll out the continuation of the 2020 League 1 and 2 competitions according to health protocols.

"Like the results of the internal ministry meeting at the Merdeka Palace with President Jokowi, we have been divided into tasks. The Ministry of Youth and Sports will carry out the implementation, then the construction of the venue by the Ministry of PUPR, and PSSI focus on the national team," said Iriawan on the PSSI website, Sunday, July 12.

Currently, PSSI has received the latest roadmap or training program plan from coach Shin Tae-yong. Intense communication with the coach from South Korea has also been carried out and Shin will soon come to Indonesia.

"PSSI will focus on improving the achievements of the national team. Thank you for the support of Pak President Jokowi and the Menpora for PSSI. God willing, we will improve the national team's performance according to the expectations of the Indonesian people. We also wish success for the implementation, venue, and achievements of the national team in the U World Cup. -20-2021, "added the man who is familiarly called Iwan Bule.

Regarding the technical implementation of the continuation of the 2020 League 1 and 2 competition, Iriawan said that various preparations were being carried out by PSSI and PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB). The continuation of the competition is planned to start in October.

"The health aspect must really be considered. All must follow existing protocols, new match regulations, health and others that have been made by a team from PSSI. Currently the situation is still not completely normal. Everything must be anticipated in detail and wisely, "explained Iriawan.

"We will also coordinate with the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling Covid-19. PSSI will also assist in the rapid test for the Liga 1 team. With the competition, we are also reviving several sectors, such as hospitality, catering and others. World leagues are already underway. "Again, even with strict health protocols, let alone our neighbors (the Vietnam League) are already running and will follow the Malaysian and Thai Leagues," he said.

Meanwhile, Menpora Zainudin Amali stated that the government through President Jokowi through a limited internal cabinet meeting a few days ago had decided on the implementation of the 2021 U-20 World Cup in accordance with the task to be given by FIFA. Menpora also confirmed that he would help and support PSSI

"Our task is about holding together with PSSI, and other elements. PSSI is concentrating on preparing the national team, and hopefully we will prepare it soon and it can run smoothly, "said Zainudin Amali.

"After the President's decision, between PSSI, FIFA and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, we continue to coordinate. We will help the Indonesian National Team with the financing, currently the budget from PSSI has entered and is in the review stage. Hopefully everything will be light and there will be no significant obstacles in preparation.
