Premier League Rejects Pascal Struijk's Red Card Appeal, Harvey Elliott Disagrees: I Think This Is Wrong

JAKARTA - Leeds United announced that their appeal against the red card received by defender Pascal Struijk in the match against Liverpool was rejected by the Premier League, but Harvey Elliott, who was the victim of a violation, said he did not agree with the decision.

"We can confirm that the appeal against Pascal Struijk's red card has been rejected," said a statement on the Leeds website on Wednesday.

With the rejection of the appeal, Struijk will go through the next three Leeds matches, namely against Newcastle United and West Ham United in the Premier League and against Fulham in the English League Cup.

The penalty was handed down after Struijk received a red card after fouling Liverpool's young attacking midfielder Harvey Elliott at Elland Road last Sunday.

As a result of the foul, Elliott later had to undergo surgery on a broken left ankle and referee Craig Pawson at that time immediately showed Struijk a red card after being advised by VAR officials.

Eliott himself had previously expressed the opinion that Struijk did not deserve a red card and responded to the Leeds defender's apology.

The 18-year-old talent again commented on the latest news of refusal to appeal Struijk's sentence.

"Sorry about this Pascal. I think this is wrong. But this will all end soon my friend and you will be back soon. Keep thinking positive," he wrote in a comment on the news uploaded to the Sky Sports Instagram account.
