JAKARTA - The proud Indonesian boxer from West Kalimantan, Daud Cino Jordan, is certain to return to the ring. He is scheduled to fight a boxer from Thailand on 29 October.

"After two years of not competing, we are finally back in the ring against Thai boxers in October. My coach and I will go to Jakarta to prepare for the fight before leaving for Thailand," said Daud Cino Jordan as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, September 14.

He explained that the remaining time will now be used to train hard in order to give the most beautiful gift for Indonesia to coincide with Youth Pledge Day which falls on October 28.

"We are ready to continue training hard and this will be continued in Jakarta, during training there we will continue to study the opponent's character looking for gaps to finish the match," he said.

He is also optimistic that he can finish the match well in the fight against the Thai boxer who has not been announced.

"I do not underestimate anyone but I believe the results of hard work do not betray the results," he assured.

On that occasion he also expressed his gratitude to the government of North Kayong Regency which has contributed a lot in developing sports, one of which is boxing.

"Before leaving for Thailand, I personally and the team thanked the local government and the people of North Kayong for the support. I hope that later I can win against Thai boxers," he hoped.

Previously, Daud Cino Jordan was known to have won the IBA and WBO Oriental super lightweight world titles after defeating Michael Mokoena with a TKO victory.

Daud Jordan, born June 10, 1987, was nicknamed Cino by his former amateur coach, Carlos Jesus Renate Tores, from Cuba, referring to the Spanish word Chino which means 'China', because of his very thick oriental (Chinese) face. Daud Jordan is the son of Hermanus Lay Tjun who is of Chinese-Indonesian descent, and Nathalia who is from the Dayak tribe.
