Dusan Vlahovic's Two Penalties Lead Fiorentina To Beat Atalanta

JAKARTA - Dusan Vlahovic led Fiorentina to defeat Atalanta 2-1 through two penalty kick goals in the third week of the Italian League match at Gewiss Stadium, Bergamo, Saturday local time (Sunday WIB).

The Serbian national team striker opened the scoring in the 33rd minute through the execution of the penalty spot after Joakim Maehle was convicted of a handball foul in the restricted area.

Berat Djimsiti actually had already netted the ball against Fiorentina in the 13th minute, but the goal was disallowed because Duvan Zapata was judged to be caught offside in the attack process.

Fiorentina's advantage was doubled by Vlahovic who returned to his duties as penalty kick executioner in the 49th minute after Giacomono Bonaventura was brought down by Djimsiti.

Atalanta's reply was also born from the spot which was converted by Zapata in the 65th minute by Jose Callejon's foul on Robin Gosens.

Atalanta then fired no less than six more shots in the remaining time but failed to change the score 1-2 until the final whistle sounded.

Fiorentina's second win with Vincenzo Italiano took them up to sixth in the standings with six points.

While Atalanta (4) slipped to 10th, according to the Italian League's official website.

The two teams will play a match in the Italian League next Saturday when Fiorentina travel to Luigi Ferraris against Genoa and Atalanta visit Salernitana.
