Brazil's PSSI Bans 8 Players From Playing In The Premier League This Weekend Except For Richarlison, Who Was Instrumental In Bringing The Samba Team To Tokyo Olympics Champion

JAKARTA - English Premier League clubs such as Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are in danger of missing Brazil's national team players this weekend after an escalating dispute between English clubs and the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF).

According to a report by The Athletic on Wednesday as reported by Antara, FIFA has informed clubs that a controversial 'five-day rule' will be imposed by the CBF to prevent eight Brazilian national team players from playing in the English Premier League.

This decision was made by the CBF because English Premier League clubs have banned their players from traveling to their country, which is still a red zone for COVID-19 cases, to defend the Brazilian national team.

The English Premier League regulations are made in accordance with the laws in force in the country.

Everyone entering the UK from a red zone country must undergo a 10-day quarantine.

The long quarantine period is considered detrimental to Premier League clubs because they cannot immediately play players who have just defended the national team.

Liverpool trio Alisson Becker, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino were affected, as were Manchester City duo Gabriel Jesus and Ederson.

Manchester United will be missing Fred and Leeds will have to put up with Raphinha, while Chelsea may not be able to play veteran defender Thiago Silva.

If the club continues to play these players, FIFA will not have a team to impose sanctions.

Brazil only gave an exception for Everton striker, Richarlison because he had been instrumental in defending his country during the 2020 Olympics.

For that, Everton are still entitled to play Richarlison this weekend.
