JAKARTA - Manchester City made Riyad Mahrez no longer care about his family. This was revealed by his ex-wife, Rita Johal.

The Algerian moved to the Etihad Stadium from Leicester City for £60m in 2018.

While still at King Power Stadium, he married his then-fiancé, Rita Johal - a model and aspiring pop star - in 2015 and had a child that same year.

With the birth of another family member four years later, their relationship suddenly broke when Mahrez started dating his current fiancé, Taylor Ward.

Dan Johal said moving to City turned her ex-husband from a humble father to a "big head".

Speaking to The Sun, the singer said: “The Riyad I met was a different person to him now. He likes to party.

"I don't hate him, but I am shocked and saddened by what he did.

"He suddenly left me, blaming the pressure of playing at Manchester City.

"Now he spends all his time flying on vacation without caring about the world."

As is known, City are working hard to sign Tottenham captain Harry Kane and have made several offers for the striker.

However, the 28-year-old confirmed earlier this week on Twitter that he would be staying in north London.

Kane has been living with his childhood love Katie Goodland since 2015. The couple has three children.

And Johal believes Kane and Goodland escaped a potential split by canceling moves to City.

“I can't comment on other people's lives but moving there changed my husband. Harry Kane's wife might be lucky. Others have to be careful," said Johal.

“Fame makes Riyad forget. He changed when he joined Manchester City. The career of a footballer is short-lived. They have to stay grounded and loyal to the people they care about."
