Left Knee Injury Has Not Been Recovered, Ibrahimovic Absent In First Serie A Match

JAKARTA - Italian club AC Milan is reportedly still going to lose their senior striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic when they play their first match in Serie A.

Quoted by Antara from Italian Football, Tuesday, it is known that currently Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still recovering from his injury.

Ibrahimovic is currently still doing separate training with his other teammates at AC Milan as his recovery is taking longer than previously thought.

The Swede suffered an injury to his left knee when he played against Juventus in Serie A on 9 May.

As a result he had to undergo arthroscopic surgery which made him also miss the opportunity to defend the Swedish national team at Euro 2020.

His long recovery also makes him expected to miss the inaugural Italian Serie A match with AC Milan when they travel to Sampdoria headquarters on 24 August.

Even so, AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli doesn't seem so worried about losing Ibrahimovic because the Rossoneri have just signed striker Olivier Giroud from Chelsea.

Last season, Ibrahimovic was one of the important actors who played a role in bringing AC Milan back into the Champions League zone after a long time.

Ibrahimovic recorded 15 goals and 2 assists from 19 appearances in Serie A which brought Milan to the second place in the final standings.
