Together Support Regulation Of U-20 Players In League 1 For The Sake Of The Indonesian National Team

JAKARTA - A number of new regulations will be applied in the 2020 League 1 continuation. One of them is the regulation regarding U-20 players.

This regulation will make every League 1 club to play players who are under 20 years of age. This is related to the preparation of the Indonesian national team to face the U-20 World Cup in 2021.

The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) has not yet decided whether to implement this regulation or not. However, a number of clubs have expressed their support.

One of them came from Bhayangkara FC. The regulation is considered to have many positive effects. Call it giving young players the opportunity to get flying hours.

"That (U-20 regulation) should be implemented. I totally agree that young players are given the opportunity to play," said the COO of Bhayangkara FC, Kombes Pol Sumardji.

Arema FC also agrees if the regulation is properly applied in the 2020 League continuation. Arema's General Manager, Ruddy Widodo, said that his party would support everything related to the Indonesian national team.

According to him, Indonesia is not only required to be a successful host, but also have to make proud achievements. Of course, the Indonesian national team needs a stock of quality players to rely on.

A similar sentiment was also expressed by Persib Bandung officials. Broadly speaking, the management of the club from West Java supports the needs of the Indonesian national team. However, Persib needs further explanation from PSSI.

"We have not received the mechanism and instructions from PSSI," said Director of PT Persib Bandung with dignity (PT PBB), Teddy Tjahjono.

Until now, PSSI is still reviewing the club's obligation to lower U-20 players in League 1. The regulation is being reviewed by PSSI Technical Director Indra Sjafri and involves the Indonesian Football Coaches Association (APSSI).
