JAKARTA - The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) stated that the League 1 and League 2 competitions will continue. It is possible that the two competitions will be continued in October.

Currently, PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) is still discussing the certainty of the continuation of the league and the regulations that will be applied.

However, they have begun to prepare for the continuation of this prestigious competition in the country. The organizers of this competition are currently compiling a timeline towards the continuation of League 1 and League 2.

One of the activities that will be carried out is a workshop. In this activity, technical matters related to advanced competition will be discussed, including health protocols.

"However, the implementation time is not yet certain," said PT LIB Acting Officer (Plt), Sudjarno, in Jakarta.

The discourse on the continuation of the League 1 and 2 competition appeared in the virtual meeting of PSSI with PT Liga 1, club representatives, and other stakeholders, some time ago. It is proposed that the competition be continued in September or October 2020 by implementing strict health protocols.

In addition, there has also been a discourse on League 1 and 2 competitions centered in one area with a "home tournament" format. Java Island is an option. However, recently two Sumatran teams, Persiraja Banda Aceh and Sriwijaya FC, admitted that they were ready to host.

Regarding this matter, PT LIB cannot say much. Sudjarno said that his party had not discussed this matter.
