Unused Bayern And Barca, Coutinho Pledged Himself To The Premier League

JAKARTA - Just two years after moving to Barcelona from Liverpool, Philippe Coutinho will be looking for a new club this summer.

Bayern Munich chose not to change Coutinho's loan status to permanent one in Bavaria and he had to return to Camp Nou when the season was over.

However, Los Blaugrana are aware that the Brazilian attacking midfielder's appearance has not gone as expected. That said, it doesn't match the fees they pay the Reds.

The best thing Coutinho can do for Barcelona right now is to generate some funds as part of the summer sale. The problem is, the 27-year-old's reputation is not as high as it was when he shone for Liverpool and Brazil.

Due to his successful period in England the player is desperate to return to the Premier League, but no big team is currently interested in signing him.

"He has the desire to return to the Premier League at any time," said Coutinho's agent, Kia Joorabchian, recently. Launching Marca, Wednesday, June 3.

"It could be this year. We don't know."

Joorabchian also did not rule out the possibility of Coutinho being loaned out to Bayern for the following season, but this is not necessarily part of the team's plans for next season. It's the same if he becomes part of the Barcelona squad after the summer.

The former Inter Milan attacking midfielder's performances at the Allianz Arena this season have not been terrible, he has scored eight goals and six assists in 22 Bundesliga matches. But Bayern have reportedly turned their attention to other targets instead of activating their 120 million euro buy option.

Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz and Manchester City midfielder Leroy Sane are said to have caught Die Roten's attention. Moreover, both of them are significantly younger than the Brazilian players and also German citizens.
