Bayern Munich Eyed Chiesa, Nagelsmann: Top Player With Incredible Speed But Expensive

JAKARTA - New Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann has admitted his interest in Federico Chiesa. However, the price of the mainstay of the Italian national team is very high.

Chiesa deserves credit for his performances at Euro 2020 and for his season with Juventus. It's no surprise to hear Nagelsmann reveal his interest in the son of Italian legend Enrico Chiesa.

The 23-year-old started Euro 2020 on the bench, with Roberto Mancini opting to stick with the front trio of Domenico Berardi, Lorenzo Insigne, and Ciro Immobile.

However, Chiesa did not waste the opportunity when given playing time by Mancio.

The Fiorentina Football academy dropout got his first start in the third match of the group stage, when the team had already confirmed themselves to the next round with two wins over Turkey and Switzerland.

The winger won the UEFA Star of the Match award for a number of problems he has created for Wales.

Chiesa returned to the bench for the next game. However, when playing in the draw against Austria, he once again showed his extraordinary ability and attitude to cause all sorts of problems.

He even scored the all-important winner to send Gli Azzurri through to the semifinals. Since then, Chiesa has started and successfully helped his country win the Henri Delauney trophy for the second time after beating England on penalties.

However, as it turned out, Chiesa's beautiful appearance did not only make the Italian manager happy. A number of reports emerged that Bayern Munich was interested in using his services. Yes, Nagelsmann admits his interest in Chiesa.

"Yes, he's a good player, but he's also expensive. He's a top player with incredible speed," Nagelsmann said of Chiesa to Bild.

"I have known him for a long time and I think he is extraordinary because he is often involved in one-on-one duels," continued the coach.

So far, there has been no response from Juventus. But one thing is for sure, Chiesa will enter his second season on loan at Juventus from Fiorentina. The Old Lady must spend at least 60 million euros if she wants to redeem Chiesa. Pretty high price isn't it?
