Euro 2020 Quarter-Final Schedule: Belgium Versus Italy, Morning Final Final

JAKARTA - The Euro 2020 event has now entered the quarter-finals as Ukraine confirmed itself as the last team in the last eight of the tournament after beating Sweden dramatically 2-1 in Glasgow, early Wednesday.

Ukraine and Switzerland are the two teams that have made history in their first appearances in the quarter-finals of the Euros, but the spotlight will certainly be on the meeting between Belgium and Italy, which is considered by some to be a morning final.

The following is the list of matches and the schedule for the quarter-finals of Euro 2020:

Belgium vs Italy (2 July - 23.00 WIB)

After sweeping the elimination phase of Group B, Belgium became the team responsible for ensuring Portugal failed to retain the Euro title after Thorgan Hazard's beautiful goal became the difference between the two teams in the round of 16.

Qualifying as winners of Group A, Italy was almost shocked by Austria in the last 16, fortunately VAR disallowed their opponent's goal and Roberto Mancini's team advanced to victory in extra time.

Although Belgium is now the world's number one team, Italy enters the quarter-finals which will be played at the Allianz Arena, Munich on Friday, July 2 evening WIB with a good track record of 14 wins and four draws in 22 meetings against the Red Devils.

Italy has also never lost in four meetings with Belgium in the main stages of prestigious tournaments including a 2-0 win in the group stage of Euro 2016.

Switzerland vs Spain (3 July - 02.00 WIB)

Switzerland created a shock by eliminating world champions France on penalties to set a historic record for the first time reaching the quarter-finals of the Euros.

Spain caught up and threw away a two-goal lead in the last five minutes of normal time before finally beating Croatia 5-3 through extra time in the last 16.

Switzerland vs Spain in the quarter-finals is like a meeting between the surprise team and the tournament's seed that will be played in Krestovsky, Saint Petersburg, on Saturday, July 3 in the morning.

Like against France, Switzerland are also burdened with a very uneven track record of encounters against Spain, where they only won once and lost 16 times in 22 matches. The only victory came in a friendly in 2010, but tomorrow's match will be their first meeting in the European Cup.

Ukraine vs England (3 July - 23.00 WIB)

Ukraine had to wait until the 121st minute to get rid of Sweden in the last 16 and make a historic first time reaching the quarter-finals of the Euros since splitting from the Soviet Union.

England qualified for the quarter-finals after beating Germany, in order to bury the bad memories of 1996 while sharpening a good score as the only team that has not conceded at Euro 2020.

The quarter-final match against Ukraine will be England's first time playing away from home in Euro 2020 and is scheduled to take place at the Stadio Olimpico, Rome, Italy, on Saturday, July 3 night.

In seven official meetings, Ukraine has only won once and lost four times against England. This will be the second meeting at the Euros after the 2012 edition of the group stage, which England won 1-0.

Czech Republic vs Denmark (4 July - 02.00 WIB)

Despite only qualifying from the group stage as one of the best third places, the Czechs once again proved they were an unlucky team for the Netherlands which they eliminated in the last 16, even though their opponent had a clean sweep of victory in Group C.

Denmark continued their emotional story following Christian Eriksen's collapse in their opening group game by crushing Wales 4-0 in the last 16 to advance to the quarter-finals.

Czech vs Denmark is scheduled to take place at the Baku Olympic Stadium on Sunday, July 4 in the morning WIB.

Six of the nine meetings between the two teams have ended in draws, but the Czechs have always beaten Denmark in the main draw of the Euros, including a convincing 3-0 win in the 2004 quarter-finals.
