JAKARTA - Georginio Wijnaldum scored twice in the second half as the Netherlands beat North Macedonia 3-0 to maintain their perfect record en route to the European Cup knockout stages on Monday night.

Launching Antara, the Netherlands has confirmed to win Group C after defeating Ukraine and Austria. They will play in the last 16 in Budapest, Hungary, against one of the best third-placed from Group D, E, or F.

North Macedonia, already knocked out of the race for the last 16 after losing two in a row, started the game better when Ivan Trickovski's goal was ruled out for before Aleksandar Trajkovski hit the post from 20 yards.

But Igor Angelovski's side was hit by a Dutch counter-attack when PSV Eindhoven striker Donyell Malen pushed forward to set up Memphis Depay's second goal of the tournament.

Wijnaldum doubled the score after hitting home from close range and then making it 3-0 again just before the hour mark. This result was impossible to catch North Macedonia.

In this match, North Macedonian Goran Pandev earned a guard of honor from his teammates when he was substituted ten minutes later.

This match against the Netherlands is indeed his last match in the international arena after declaring his retirement from the national team last weekend.
