2021 Copa America: Winning With Four Goals, Brazil Is Too Strong For Peru

JAKARTA - The Brazilian national team proved to be too strong for Peru after they won 4-0 in the 2021 Copa America match at the Nilton Santos Stadium or the Olympic Stadium on Friday morning Indonesian time (WIB), according to the official FIFA website.

The home team did not relax the attack after the first goal. They almost added to their advantage in the 25th minute through Fabinho's shot which slid thinly across the Peruvian goal.

Sandro regained his chances a few minutes before the end of the first half with his shot just past the crossbar. The 1-0 position for Brazil lasted until halftime.

Brazil continued their dominance in the second half, but the Peruvian defense was able to appear disciplined to stem the attacks of the home team.

Brazil was awarded a penalty in the 61st minute after Neymar fell in the box while defending the ball from Renato Tapia.

However, the referee reviewed the violation via VAR and overturned his decision because it judged that Tapia had not committed a foul on Neymar.

Not long after, Brazil was able to increase their advantage in the 68th minute through Neymar's low kick near the penalty box which goalkeeper Pedro Gellese couldn't stop. Position to 2-0.

Brazil made it 3-0 two minutes before normal time ended. Everton scored an easy goal in front of the Peru goal, utilizing Richarlison's mature pass.

Not content with three goals, Brazil scored the fourth through Richarlison's close-range shot in injury time. The score of 4-0 for the Samba Team lasted until the game ended.

With this result, Brazil is firmly at the top of Group A with six points from two matches. Meanwhile, Peru is languishing in a distended position and has not yet won points.
