PB Djarum Badminton Audition 2026 Will Take Place in Three Cities

JAKARTA - The Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation will hold the PB Djarum General Audition in three major cities for this year's edition. This selection is part of the ongoing commitment to producing a generation of Indonesian badminton gold.

The PB Djarum 2026 General Audition will start from Pekanbaru, Riau, on July 7-12, 2026, then move to Makassar, South Sulawesi, on August 4-9, 2026, and finally in Kudus, Central Java, on September 8-13, 2026.

Program Director of the Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation, who is also the Chairman of PB Djarum, Yoppy Rosimin, said that the decision to hold auditions in a number of cities was made to respond to requests from participants, parents of athletes, and regional clubs.

"We hope this year we can find hidden pearls that have not surfaced," Yoppy said in a statement received.

The PB Djarum General Audition is centered in Kudus from 2022 to 2025. However, in previous years, PB Djarum had held the largest badminton audition in nine cities.

The Head of the PB Djarum 2026 General Audition Talent Search Team, Sigit Budiarto, said that this year's selection process was still designed to be tight and competitive to find young athletes with special qualities.

"We hope that through this audition we can find superior seeds that are not only strong technically, but also have unique characters in playing and champion mentality," said Sigit.

This year, the search for talented and mentally champion badminton seeds will target three age groups, namely U-11 (participants aged 8-10 years or born 2016-2018), 11-year-old age group (KU) (participants aged 11 years or born 2015), and KU-12 (participants with age 12 years or born 2014), both boys and girls.

The talent search team will be strengthened by the PB Djarum coaching staff with Hendrawan as the coordinator for female athletes and Leonard Holvy de Pauw as the coordinator for male athletes. In addition, there is also a row of Indonesian badminton legends who also participate in monitoring talent from day one.

The selection series of the PB Djarum 2026 General Audition begins with the screening stage using a knockout system. The match lasts one game until the 21st point without a deuce.

For the implementation in Pekanbaru and Makassar, the super ticket will be given to each champion, both in the men's and women's categories. Meanwhile, in Kudus, the men's category that won the super ticket was the semifinalist, while the women's category was only the finalist.

Participants who pass will enter the quarantine phase which lasts for four weeks after the PB Djarum 2026 General Audition series in three cities is completed. The quarantine takes place from September 14 to October 9, 2026.

During the quarantine, there are two elimination phases on September 28 and October 10, 2026. The announcement of the final results of the 2026 PB Djarum General Audition will be made on October 10, 2026. Participants who pass this stage will receive the Djarum Badminton Scholarship and join PB Djarum.

The audition registration is carried out online through the official PB Djarum website which has been opened since April 6 and will be closed on September 1, 2026 at 23.59 WIB.

Participants who pass the administrative stage are required to re-register on September 8, 2026 at 09.00-15.00 WIB, before participating in the selection stage on September 8-13, 2026 in Kudus.
