Anthony Joshua Signs Deal for Duel with Tyson Fury

JAKARTA - Anthony Joshua (AJ) has signed a deal to face his compatriot Tyson Fury. The duel between the two heavyweight world champions is confirmed to take place in the last quarter of this year.

This was confirmed by Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, through a post on social media. He said that the long-awaited fight of many fans "has been signed, agreed, and will be carried out".

"As I said, the landlord will definitely charge rent. The fight is definitely happening," Joshua said of the fight, as reported by BBC Sport.

Joshua will first undergo a fight against Kristian Prenga in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on July 25, 2026. It is a warm-up duel. If he can win without injury, then meeting with Fury will go smoothly.

Prenga, who is 35 years old, is not a famous name in the world of boxing. However, the fighter from Albania has a record of 20 wins, all by knockout (KO), and one defeat.

The duel against Prenga was Joshua's first fight after he defeated Jake Paul via KO in December 2025. He was then involved in a fatal accident after that, which killed two close friends.

Joshua's career journey was questioned as a result of the tragedy. However, he finally returned to training before announcing that he would return to fighting.

"It's no secret that I've taken the time to consolidate and rebuild myself to be ready to get back in the ring and today is the next step in that journey," Joshua said.

AJ attended Fury's recent comeback match against Arslanbek Makhmudov. He was then immediately challenged by Fury who managed to win the absolute figure in the fight.

The date or venue for the Joshua vs Fury match has not been announced. Hearn hinted that the match could take place in November 2026 and be broadcast on the Netflix streaming platform.
