JAKARTA - The Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) has named Jakarta as one of the locations for the 2026 Rallycross World Cup. The E-Prix circuit, Ancol, will be the location for the race which will take place on December 5-6, 2026.

Being trusted to be the location for the 2026 Rallycross World Cup, Pramono Anung as the Governor of DKI Jakarta expressed full support for the activities promoted by SARGA.CO.

"The implementation (of the 2026 Rallycross World Cup) is the first to be held in Southeast Asia (ASEAN) or Indonesia, so of course we will fully support it," said Pramono Anung at a press conference at the Jakarta City Hall, Thursday, April 16, 2026, afternoon WIB.

One of the DKI Provincial Government's (DKI) supports for the 2026 Rallycross World Cup is to help disseminate information about this event as much as possible.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government also utilizes all of their channels to reach more stakeholders for a sustainable event.

"As a global city and the second safest city in Southeast Asia after Singapore, we will continue to improvise and make Jakarta a destination city for sports tourism and world-class events," added Pramono.

Aryo Djojohadikusumo as the founder of SARGA.CO who is the promoter of this event stated that the FIA has indeed entrusted Indonesia for the first time in ASEAN to be one of the hosts of the 2026 Rallycross World Cup.

Based on this trust, the promoter then maximally also helped prepare the Indonesian racers to be able to participate as participants in the next edition so that in the future they will not only be spectators, but also participants and participants in the race.

"Although this year's edition, no Indonesian racer has participated, the contract of cooperation with the FIA lasts for five years."

"We are trying to encourage national racers to participate in the future, so they must be prepared from now on," said Aryo.

Aryo also revealed the reason why the FIA was willing to hold a rallycross in Indonesia. This is because of the high enthusiasm of automotive enthusiasts in Indonesia, especially related to rally racing.

The circuit at Ancol, called Aryo, was chosen as the location for the event not only because of the condition of the track, but also because it was able to support other entertainment activities.

"We chose Ancol because the place is more ready with various other supporting activities or side events to entertain the audience, then the place has also held Formula-E which is another prestigious motorsport event," he said.

Regarding the inaugural event, Aryo is optimistic that the audience who attend can reach 25,000-30,000 people so that the total can reach 50,000-60,000 during the two days of the activity.

The 2026 FIA Rallycross World Cup is part of the FIA's global strategy to expand the reach of the rallycross sport to new markets outside Europe, with Indonesia chosen as the first expansion location in the Southeast Asian region.

Rallycross is a unique motorsport discipline because it combines the characteristics of rally racing with short-distance circuit tracks.

The tournament uses Euro RX1 and RX3 internal combustion engine racing cars, as well as a track with a combination of asphalt and soil surfaces (mixed surface) with a composition of about 60 percent asphalt and 40 percent soil.

The format presents fast, aggressive, and intense racing action between racers (wheel-to-wheel) making it an exciting spectacle.

In this event, SARGA.CO will slightly change the Ancol E-Prix Circuit into an international rallycross track with a challenging mixed surface configuration.
