Aldila/Janice Out in the First Round of the 2026 Charleston Open

JAKARTA - Janice Tjen and Aldila Sutjiadi's journey immediately crashed in the first round of the women's doubles sector of the 2026 Charleston Open. They lost to the first seeded Aleksandra Krunic (Serbia) and Zhang Shuai (China).

Janice/Aldila appeared fierce and put up a fight in the two-set match which was tight, but eventually surrendered with a score of 7-6(3) and 7-5 on Tuesday, March 31, USA or Wednesday, April 1, 2026, Indonesian time.

In the duel, Janice/Aldila was able to match the aggressive game displayed by Krunic/Zhang. They even recorded two aces to one from their opponents and carved out 87 percent of the victory in the second service.

However, effectiveness at critical points is the difference in the course of the match. Krunic/Zhang performed very cold by converting all two break point opportunities (100 percent) they got.

On the other hand, Aldila/Janice was only able to convert one of the break point opportunities that were created throughout the match.

The match between Janice Tjen and McCartney Kessler is scheduled to take place tonight at 22.00 WIB. Janice, who is ranked as the 12th seed, is expected to get through the match.
