Thailand Masters 2026: Indonesian Men's Doubles Have Locked One Title

JAKARTA - The Indonesian men's doubles are guaranteed to get one title from the 2026 Thailand Masters after the Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin pair managed to secure the first final ticket from the three representatives who fought in the semifinals.

Raymond/Nikolaus, who are seeded second, got a ticket to the tournament's final round after defeating Hu Ke Yuan/Lin Xiang Yi (China) in two straight games 21-16 and 21-15 at the Nimibutr Stadium on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

"Entering the final is of course happy, indeed this is in line with the target. We want to play consistently in every match. Hopefully we can show the best game for the people of Indonesia," said Nikolaus.

This is the second consecutive final for Raymond/Nikolaus in two weeks. Last week, they also managed to enter the final round of the 2026 BWF Super 500 Indonesia Masters, but eventually came out as runners-up.

In the final tomorrow, Raymond/Nikolaus will meet the winner of the duel between Muhammad Rian Ardianto/Rahmat Hidayat. Bentrok fellow countrymen in the final match automatically ensures one title has been locked in Indonesia.

Before Raymond/Nikolaus locked the final ticket, the women's doubles of Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari, who were ranked fifth, had already been eliminated. They lost to Bao Li Jing/Li Yi Jing (China) in three games 11-21, 21-16, 15-21.

"Today we haven't been able to give our best, today's opponent played well. The opponent played neatly and didn't die much by themselves. For evaluation, we have to play more boldly in the future," said Meilysa in a statement.

Indonesia has a total of ten representatives in the semifinals of the BWF Super 300 level event. In addition to the men's doubles, the men's singles and mixed doubles are also involved in a civil war in the semifinals so that the final ticket for Indonesia is certain to increase.

From the men's singles, the two Indonesian representatives involved in the clash in the semifinals were Alwi Farhan and Moh Zaki Ubaidillah, while in the mixed doubles the civil war involved the pair of Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah and Bobby Setiabudi/Melati Daeva Oktavianti.
