Aprilia Racing Confident Its Team Will Compete with Ducati in MotoGP 2026

JAKARTA - Aprilia Racing boss Massimo Rivola believes his team can disrupt Ducati's dominance in the 2026 MotoGP season.

Rivola is confident that the series of positive results achieved by his team in several series in the 2025 season will be a valuable capital to be able to break Ducati's dominance in 2026.

"We face the 2026 season with full awareness of who we are and where we want to go," Rivola said, quoted from the MotoGP website, Sunday.

"We come from a solid 2025 season that allowed us to reach a very high level of competitiveness, and our goal now is to fight in every race," he added.

The team based in Noale is in second place in the final standings of the construction team after collecting 418 points or below Ducati Lenovo.

The score is Aprilia's best achievement throughout its participation in MotoGP after for the first time being able to collect more than 400 points in one season.

Moreover, Aprilia can also deliver its rider Marco Bezzecchi to perch in third place in the final rider standings after pocketing 353 points or below the Marquez duo, namely Marc Marquez and Alex Marquez who are in first and second place.

The capital is very important for Aprilia, which is now also confirmed to be strengthened by the 2024 world champion Jorge Martin, who previously missed more because he was dealing with injuries.

"We will follow two different paths in the garage. On the one hand, we want to continue from the same level as we achieved at the end of last season with Marco, and on the other hand, we will build a lot of things together with Jorge," said Rivola.

"We have great faith in the RS-GP26 and we believe that this bike has great potential, as do our riders," said the Italian.

Aprilia Racing is scheduled to undergo pre-season testing at the Sepang Circuit, Malaysia on February 3-5.
