Friendly Match Ahead Of European Cup, Italy Easily Wins Over Weak Team San Marino 7-0

JAKARTA - Italy defeated San Marino 7-0 in a friendly match to warm up the European Cup, Friday, May 28 local time, in Cagliari, Sardinia.

Antara reported that Roberto Mancini's side initially struggled to get past the European side but captain Federico Bernardeschi finally broke the deadlock in the 31st minute before Sassuolo defender Gian Marco Ferrari doubled the score three minutes later on his debut.

Matteo Politano made it 3-0 four minutes before half-time and Torino striker Andrea Belotti made it 4-0 again before Matteo Pessina netted Italy's fifth five minutes later.

A brilliant volley from Politano and a close-range finish from Pessina in the last minute wrapped up Italy's seventh straight win.

Italy will still play one warm-up game ahead of Euro 2020 on June 11 - July 11 against the Czech Republic in Bologna, Friday next week.

Italy will have their first European Cup match against Turkey before being tested by Switzerland and Wales, all of which will be held in Rome.
