JAKARTA - Indonesian junior golfer, Bianca Naomi Laksono, will take the opportunity to appear in the 2026 Indonesia Women's Open (IWO) to learn as much as possible from professional players.
The prestigious women's golf tournament is scheduled to roll from January 30 to February 1, 2026 at the Damai Indah Golf-BSD Course, Tangerang, Banten. This is the second year the event has rolled after its debut last year.
Bianca said that IWO is a tournament that can help her career journey, especially giving her an idea of how to become a professional golfer in the future.
"For me, I am very excited to play here because I can learn a lot from professionals, how they handle problems on the field, that is very valuable, and I can't get it in other amateur tournaments," he said.
Bianca is one of the 30 Indonesian golfers who will play in this year's Indonesia Women's Open. The golfer who is currently pursuing higher education at Padjadjaran University will compete as an amateur.
The Indonesia Women's Open 2026 is the first tournament that Bianca has participated in after defending the Indonesian golf team at the 2025 Thailand SEA Games. In the biennial event, she and the women's team managed to contribute a bronze medal.
"Of course it's a bit stressful, but I want to make that pressure enjoyable. So, I just want to make it fun in this tournament because it's really beyond my level, this is a professional level. I'm here more to enjoy and just learn," he said.
This year's tournament, which is held by the Asia Golf Leaders Forum (AGLF) and co-sanctioned by the Indonesian Golf Association (PGI) and the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Tour (KLPGT), offers a total prize of 600 thousand US dollars (about Rp. 10 billion).
The prize money for the tournament has doubled compared to its debut last year, making IWO 2026 the most expensive women's professional golf tournament on the Asia-Pacific circuit.
Overall, the IWO 2026 Presented by BTN was attended by 120 best golfers. They are elite athletes from the KLPGA Dream Tour and top golfers representing more than 12 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
