It was revealed that Mohamed Salah finally apologized to Liverpool.

JAKARTA - Forward Mohamed Salah finally apologized to Liverpool for the commotion caused by his actions. This was said by midfielder Curtis Jones ahead of the match in the English Premier League against Tottenham Hotspur, Sunday, December 21, 2025 early morning WIB.

Salah made a fuss internally at the club because of his interview which cornered the club and manager Arne Slot. The captain of the Egyptian national team accused the club of 'throwing him under the bus [to be trampled on]'. He also stated that his relationship with Slot was no longer harmonious.

The statement was made after Liverpool drew 3-3 against Leeds United in a Premier League match. As a result, the club's internal was a little bit noisy and former Reds players who are football pundits on average blamed Salah's attitude.

Not stopping there, Slot also no longer included Salah in the squad. Even Salah was left out when Liverpool played away against Inter Milan in the Champions League. Ironically, without Salah, Liverpool even 1-0.

And, Liverpool's only goal came from a penalty spot which was scored by Dominik Szoboszlai. So far Salah has been the one to execute when Liverpool gets a penalty.

The victory in Milan and Szoboszlai's penalty were like slapping Salah who before the match uploaded a photo while working out alone at the club's gym.

Salah's action also invited controversy and he was blamed again. Moreover, Slot like to insinuate Salah when he was asked that everyone could do something wrong. Slot only answered, "What if the guilty doesn't want to admit his guilt?"

Slot's firm attitude made Salah think again. As a result, the 33-year-old player immediately approached the club's top management. Both parties reached a 'peaceful agreement' and Slot finally played Salah even as a substitute in the 2-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion.

After the match, Salah greeted the fans and said goodbye for a while because he would strengthen Egypt in the African Cup. Before leaving Anfield, Salah was revealed to have apologized to his teammates.

"Mo is a gentleman. He apologized to us. 'If what I did makes you disappointed, I'm sorry'. That's what he said. He is indeed a gentleman," said Curtis.

"I only speak to the best of my knowledge about Salah. How he was with us and acted. He is a very good person," he said.

"He's still the same Mo he used to be. His smile never leaves his face and everyone thinks the same about him. In my opinion, he really just wants to be a winner. I'm talking about a figure who always runs more and more just for fights and competitions. That's what you see," said Curtis again.

"Here we are more than just a family. In a normal family, they argue and fight. But we are still one. Any small incident shows that the family is the most important. In my opinion, no one needs to blame each other. And that's the important thing," he said.

Slot himself stated that the tension with his players had passed. He had also moved on and was now focused on the match against Hotspur. Even though he lost Salah and played at home, Slot still aimed for victory to break into the top four or the Champions League zone.

"We've moved on. All of that is in the past and we remain one as a team. We will come back to play better and win games," Slot said.

"He's back in the squad and played even as a substitute. Now he's playing in the Africa Cup of Nations. It's a big tournament for him and his country. There's no discord between us and we're focused on facing Spurs when he's not there," he said.
