BTN Chairman Still Efforts To Communicate With Marselino And Justin Hubner Clubs For The 2025 SEA Games

Marselino Ferdinand is still trying to join the U-23 Indonesian national team (VOI/Ferry Tri Adi Sasono).

JAKARTA - The head of the National Team Agency (BTN), Sumardji, said that he was still making communication efforts to the clubs Marselino Ferdinand and Justin Hubner to strengthen the U-23 Indonesian national team at the 2025 SEA Games.

The two players are known to be on the initial list of players called by Indra Sjafri to strengthen the U-23 Indonesian national team at the 2025 SEA Games. However, until the second period of training camp (TC) in November 2025, Marselino and Hubner had not yet joined.

"Marselino entered (the summons), but we have to discuss with his club (to join TC). If Justin has not sent us a letter," said Sumardji after training at the Madya Stadium on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

Currently Marselino is undergoing a loan period from his home club Oxford United to AS Trencin. Meanwhile Justin Hubner is still strengthening Fortuna Sittard.

Although until now Marselino and Hubner have not joined, Indra Sjafri provides opportunities for other diaspora players including Ivar Jenner, Mauro Zijlstra, and Dion Markx.

In addition, during this training session, the U-23 Indonesian national team also received three other diaspora players. They are Luke Xavier Keet, Reycredo Beremanda, and Muhammad Mishbah who have a personal desire to join the team.

Luke is a winger of the Greek league's second division club, GS Illiopolis. Meanwhile, Reycredo, who plays as a left winger and Mishbah who is an attacking midfielder, is a player from the Aguilas Umak club from the Philippine Premier League. All three have pocketed Indonesian passports.

"Indeed, coach Indra did not call directly. I did not call directly, but because there was a desire. There was a desire for them to participate in the selection."

"I'm talking about selection, or trying whether it fits the character, or according to the wishes of the coach of these three players to be summoned."
