Alonso Needs Real Madrid Introspection After Two Inning Matches Lose A Lot Of Points

Xabi Alonso emphasized that Real Madrid must introspect after losing points in the two most recent matches (Instagram/@realmadrid).

JAKARTA - Xabi Alonso said Real Madrid needed to criticize themselves, but had to be measured in reaction to a 0-0 draw on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Rayo Vallecano's headquarters.

"It's still November, the road is still long. We have to sue ourselves, but it's also measurable," said Alonso.

Real Madrid beat Barcelona 2-1 in El Clasico last month, but since then they have continued to face criticism, especially after their performance at Anfield.

"We know where we are. In good and bad times, you have to know how to find a balance. This season is still long," Alonso said, when asked if he was worried about talks about the crisis.

With Dani Carvajal injured, Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to be the main right-back in Vallecas, but he only plays as a substitute in stoppage time. Federico Valverde was chosen to appear from the start minutes.

"Trent, after injury, takes more time. Now after the international break, he will be able to prepare well for the next game," said Alonso.
