Bekasi Archery Athletes Donate Gold Bring West Java To The General Champion

JAKARTA - The archery athlete from Bekasi Regency Dzar El Ghifar Zen contributed three gold medals at the XVII Jakarta 2025 National Student Sports Week (Popnas) while at the same time delivering the West Java contingent to become the overall champion of the sport.

General Secretary of the All-Indonesian Archery Association (Perpani) Bekasi Regency Suheriyanto said the West Java archery team was solid at the top of the final standings for the 2025 Popnas archery medal after collecting three gold medals and one bronze.

"The three gold medals were donated by the Bekasi Regency archery athlete on behalf of Dzar El Ghifar Zen in individual and team numbers," he said in Cikarang, Saturday.

Dzar El won the first gold medal from the men's individual recurve number. He won gold again in the mixed team recurve number with Qiyana Ayudiya Thahir. The third gold medal was donated by Dzar El with Alman Yuardian and Zovan Danadyaksa from the men's recurve team number.

"The addition of one bronze medal for the West Java contingent was contributed byMINAe Kiara Putri Faisal, Galih Cahaya Raditya in the mixed team compound number," he said.

The West Java archery contingent managed to outperform Central Java in second place in the final standings for medals with a collection of two gold, one silver and five bronze. The hosts of Jakarta had to settle for third place with two gold, one silver and one bronze.

The 2025 Popnas XVII Jakarta archery sport was attended by 30 provinces with a total number of 269 athletes fighting for a total of 10 gold medals from 10 competition numbers.

In addition to the three provinces that won the top medals, the East Kalimantan, Yogyakarta, and Banten contingents were also able to bring home one gold medal each.

Popnas XVII Jakarta 2025 lasted for 10 days from 1-10 November 2025 followed by 5,167 student athletes from all over Indonesia who competed in 23 sports.
