Trent Alexander-Arnold's Mental Examination, Mocked And Defeated By Liverpool

JAKARTA - Real Madrid manager, Xabi Alonso, said it was not a problem that Trent Alexander-Arnold received a bad welcome back to Liverpool in the Champions League.

Real Madrid lost 0-1 at Anfield thanks to Alexis Mac Allister's header. Alexander-Arnold - who joined Los Blancos in the summer after his Liverpool contract expired - was ridiculed by supporters when he was sent off in the 80th minute.

Liverpool boss, Arne Slot, also dismissed suggestions that Alexander-Arnold's entry helped his team win.

"I was impressed with the atmosphere for 90 minutes, even before the game. I think the fans helped us for 90 minutes and not just when Trent was on the pitch," said the Dutchman.

Alexander-Arnold made 354 appearances for Liverpool after graduating from the club academy in 2015.

Despite winning two Premier League titles and Champions League titles in a decade full of trophies at the club, supporters ridiculed the academy graduates towards the end of last season -- which made former Reds manager Jurgen Klopp very disappointed.

Months have passed, but hostilities remain. The word "rat" was repeatedly crossed out at the Alexander-Arnold mural, which is located near the stadium.

The vandalism was removed before the match on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, early morning WIB. However, he had to face more abuse in the stadium with some supporters chanting swearing at him warming up in the second half.
