JAKARTA - Men's doubles Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin confirmed that Indonesia won the second title in Indonesia Master II 2025, after the previous success of the Mixed doubles Marwan Faza/Aisyah Salsabila Putri Pranata.
Raymond/Nikolaus beat the Korean-Malaysia gado pair, Choi Sol Gyu/Goh V Shem with 21-18, 17-21, 24-22 in the final at the PBSI Sports Hall, North Sumatra, Sunday.
Nikolaus was grateful to be able to win the match which he said was really tense.
"Earlier in the first game we played attacking because we were in a wind-winning position and when we were in the second game we had the lead at 11-9," said Nikolaus after competing.
"But we were even excited to attack, so they were waiting for our hit and we didn't anticipate that, so we had to lose in the second game with 13-21," he continued.
In the third game, they apply a pattern and when they change places during the interval they try to play more patiently.
And it worked, until leading 20-19. In this position, Nikolaus admitted that his hands were shaking when he got the service which he failed to do.
"But my coach and partner continue to convince me to take this opportunity to become the super 100 champion," he said.
"Although we are asked to be calm and patient, we continue to attack because for us, the best defense is to attack," said Nikolaus.

Raymond / Nikolaus immediately turned his attention to the Super 300 tournament in Korea which will take place next week.
Winning Indonesia Master II 2025 will be a valuable asset in Korea later so that it can perform better than at the Macau Open.
"We will definitely dedicate this victory to Indonesia. Hopefully with this title the graph can be more," said Nikolaus.
Raymond replied that their opponents in the final had advantages and things of experience and seniority that made them calmer even though they were left behind.
"Earlier, at the critical point, I was like Javu, because I had three finals and lost all the time on tight points. It felt like the burden was just heavy to myself because I really won," said Raymond.
"Finally, it's a relief that I was able to win Super 100, before with different partners failing twice in the final. With Joaquin having also failed once to win."
"The support of the audience is very encouraging for us, especially since Joaquin's father and mother are also here," concluded Raymond.
