KUDUS DKI Jakarta contingent from the sport (sports) karate managed to control the final standings for the 2205 Kudus Self-Defense PON medal.

The status of the overall champion was secured by DKI on the last day of the tournament which took place at the Djarum Arena, Kaliputu, Kudus, Central Java, on Saturday, October 26.

On the last day of the match, the DKI Jakarta contingent was able to add two gold medals through Annisa Nur Angraini in the women's -50kg kumite number and Fitari Amelza in the women's -55kg kumite number.

Meanwhile, in the men's 84kg kumite number, Sandy Firmansyah from West Java managed to lower DKI karateka Mohammad Fadillah with a score of 4-6.

The head coach of karate DKI Jakarta, Baron Bahar, is grateful for this achievement. He assessed that athletes were able to maintain the tradition of winning even though they appeared without several mainstay names as in the 2024 Aceh PON "North Sumatra".

"Alhamdulillah, DKI has prepared a good team for this Self-Defense PON. Although not all the main athletes can go down, their fighting spirit is extraordinary," said Baron.

Overall, DKI Jakarta closed the karate PON Martial Arts 2025 event with three gold, one silver and two bronze medals. West Java occupies the second position with two gold, two silver, and three bronze.
