Denmark Open 2025: 7 Indonesian Representatives Qualify For The Second Round

JAKARTA Seven Indonesian representatives managed to secure tickets to the second round of the Denmark Open 2025, which is the minority number of the total sent to the tournament.

The event completed a series of first-half matches at the Jyske Bank Arena on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, WIB night. Of the nine Indonesian representatives who took part on the second day, only three were safe.

The three representatives who passed were mixed doubles Adnan Maulana/Indah Cahya Sari Jamil, men's doubles Muhammad Rian Ardianto/Rahmat Hidayat, and men's singles Jonatan Christie.

The first ticket was obtained by the Adnan/Indah pair, who escaped after defeating representatives of India, Mohit Jaglan/Lakshita Jaglan. They locked the opponent's victory through two games 21-14 and 21-11.

Adnan/Indah are the only Indonesian mixed doubles left in this tournament from the three pairs that have dropped. Two who have been eliminated are Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu and Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah.

From the men's doubles sector, a surprise was created by Rian/Rahmat by eliminating the second seed from Malaysia, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik, in a duel of two games 21-17 and 21-13.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Christie was able to rise from the first game to repatriate the Japanese men's singles, Kenta Nishimoto, with scores 10-21, 21-11, and 21-7. Jonathan is also the only Indonesian men's singles left.

The three representatives followed in the footsteps of Putri Kusuma Wardani, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani, and Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari who had already passed yesterday.

Indonesia has sent a total of 15 representatives to this tournament. The other six who were eliminated along with the two mixed doubles above were Alwi Farhan, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, Rachel Alllessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum, Lanny Tria Mayasari/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi, and Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana.

The seven Indonesian representatives will compete in the round of 16 on Thursday, October 16, 2025. The series of matches starts at 09.00 local time or 14.00 WIB.
