Maarten Paes Leaks His Condition After Injury Ahead Of The Indonesian National Team Against Saudi Arabia

Maarten Paes admitted that he was still uncomfortable with his injury scars (VOI/Karisa Aurelia Tukan).

JAKARTA - Maarten Paes revealed his condition ahead of the match of the Indonesia vs Saudi Arabia national team in the Fourth Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification. Paes said that sometimes there were feelings of discomfort from the injury effects experienced previously.

Overall, Paes has actually stated that his condition is good. He only admitted that scars after injury sometimes still feel stiff and uncomfortable.

"Now I feel very good, there is a little scar tissue, sometimes it feels stiff, but the rest feels very good and now is the time to adjust on the way," said Maarten Paes in a video upload on the FC Dallas Instagram account quoted Monday, October 6, 2025.

Apart from that, Paes has now joined the Indonesian national team squad and is scheduled to undergo his first training on Monday, October 6, 2025, at night Jeddah time. He also admitted that he was enthusiastic because he could join the team for a very big agenda.

"Adjusting itself again with the time difference there (Saudi Arabia) and then it's two close matches, 8 and 11 (October 2025)."

"I feel amazing. I have marked this match with a red circle on my agenda," said the goalkeeper.

Previously, Maarten Paes had indeed been absent from strengthening FC Dallas for two months. He last played when he met New York City, July 26, 2025.

He returned to the FC Dallas team on October 4, 2025. However, he only sat on the bench when his team beat Los Angeles Galaxy with a score of 2-1.

"I know this is nine weeks since my injury. So, I think this could be the right time to come back. Yes, Kwan (FC Dallas officials) did an extraordinary job with me over the past few weeks," he said of the recovery process at the club.
