Changing Coaches Is Not Solution For Barcelona

JAKARTA - Ronald Koeman's future is the big question looming over Barcelona at the moment. However, few know what intentions and decisions president Joan Laporta will take in the near future.

Defeated by Celta Vigo in the 37th week of La Liga last weekend has spread the seeds of doubt about the head coach. But let's study it again. Is Koeman really to blame?

For Barcelona, the solution does not lie in changing coaches. But by changing other things in the team. What is that?

Koeman has been working for months with the technical secretary to make the team more competitive and get some things done, while the new coach will start from scratch.

It remains to be seen to what extent Laporta will strengthen his squad, or, in other words, how much money he can raise. Reportedly, the figures from the club's audit were not positive and the discharge was greater than previously thought.

That debt will get worse if they choose to sack Koeman because the rest of his contract year is still to be paid.

If given the effective option in doing so, Koeman would surely be prepared to rotate and manage veteran members of his squad. It's not something that doesn't matter because you have to wonder if Xavi, for example, is willing to do the same to his friends.
