JAKARTA The Indonesian Women's Basketball National Team (Timnas) U-17 managed to make history after confirming the title in the SEABA U-17 3X3 Cup 2025 event which took place in Singapore.

The inaugural edition of the SEABA U-17 3X3 Cup this year took place on 27-28 September 2025. Indonesia locked the title after defeating Thailand in the final round with a final position of 17-15.

The Secretary General of the Perbasi DPP, Nirmala Dewi, appreciated the success of the Indonesian squad who performed well throughout the tournament and managed to make an important history.

"This is an extraordinary achievement. This is history for our 3X3 basketball. The players immediately won when this event was first held. Once again congratulations," said Nirmala in a statement received.

The work of the Indonesian Women's Basketball 3X3 National Team U-17 began brilliantly since the group stage. At this stage, they managed to win all of the five matches played.

The journey began on Saturday, September 27, 2025, by defeating Vietnam 21-10, then silencing the host Singapore with a score of 21-12, overcoming the Laos 21-4 resistance, and then defeating Malaysia 21-13.

On the second day, the victory began with overcoming Thailand 18-13 in the last match of the group. Sweeping all matches in the preliminary phase made Indonesia immediately get a ticket to the semifinals with the status of first place.

Then in the semifinals, Indonesia met Singapore again and won dramatically with a score of 18-17. Indonesia's journey was smooth until the final when they met Thailand again.

Overall, Indonesia has won seven wins to ensure the title of the champion. This success is even more complete because Ni Kadek player Winda Sandia Kanita has won the status of Most Valuable Player (MVP).

Meanwhile, from the men's category, the Indonesian Men's Basketball 3X3 U-17 National Team ranks fourth. The Red-White team took this position after losing 17-21 against Malaysia in the third-place fighting duel.

The Indonesian U-17 Men's Basketball 3X3 national team actually recorded extraordinary results during the preliminary round by winning all six matches played.

Unfortunately, in the semifinals Indonesia lost slightly 18-19 against Thailand. This defeat made Indonesia even have to settle for fighting only in the third place.
